Compassion For You

This week, a person of great compassion has passed away. Because I have been the recipient of a lot of compassion throughout my life it gives me pause as I reflect on the Giants that have paved the way for us. Mahatma Gandhi, The Buddha, Mother Theresa, Martin Luther King, Pope Francis and many others come to mind during this period of honor.

One of the commentaries I heard following Pope Francis' funeral was that his death is especially poignant at this time when "compassion is at a deficit globally" and even sometimes at the four-way stop sign. I giggled that TV news needs to remind us of human history at these times of great loss.
